The Prins Willem

The Prins Willem V, was a 258 foot long steel freighter. It had a cargo of automobile parts, printing presses, twine and band instruments when on Oct. 14, 1954 it ran into an 800-foot tow cable between the tug Sinclair Chicago and the barge Sinclair XII. The cable tore two major holes into the Prins Willem V and it took on water fast.

Today, the wreck sits in 90 feet of with a port side list. It is fully intact and looks much like the picture above. The mid-structure can be reached at 45 feet. Visibility is usually very good on this wreck and doorways and rooms can be very inviting but also very dangerous. Do NOT penetrate without proper training and equipment
